| This was a
very memorable night. It was the 2nd night of a 2 night Rocky weekend.
The Friday had been a slightly miserable
night (and I'd actually been on duty as I was working at the cinema
then).
Saturday was much better however, right up until Nicky (then our MC)
diverted from his normal intro to bring me up onto the stage, and announce
that it was my birthday.
The entire audience sang Happy Birthday to me, as the most beautiful
cake was brought in, practically ablaze with candles.
It was a handmade creation in the form of a gothic castle (complete
with geodesic dome and Riff's window), and, amazingly, it would
later on take only four of us about an hour to eat it.
Unbelievable. |
Good strong
clear colours on this one, though the white of the background is slightly
yellowed I think this adds to the faded charm.
The back also has a slightly shabby sweetness to it. The strip of tape
used to mount it is clearly visible, but at least this time I managed
not to rip the card.
{a ps to the story opposite - after the show everyone came back to my
flat for a somewhat bizarre impromptu party which cheered the neighbours
up no end...} |
