| This was the
first time we ever did Rocky at the Odeon, Renfield St.
Back in those days it was pretty much unheard of for them to show it
- nowadays it is (more or less) our regular home.
For some reason, it was programmed in Odeon 1 which at that point had
around 1,500 seats. Needless to say it wasn't full, but we did a good
job of the front middle section (I'd say around 300)
This was memorable as the first night we ever sold prop bags - Carole
and Saff came up with them and were outside touting them to the queue.
I believe this was the night we were treated to the dulcit tones of the
balloon-powered tooters.

It's probably
quite relevant that I not only dated the card, but wrote "Rocky no
63" on it. I think at this stage in my Rocky fandom I was finding
it hard to keep count.
I'm sure that tally is wrong though, as I'm sure my 60th screening was
the Charming Underclothes Rocky/ Shocky doubler in August 1992.
Anyway, it's a pretty card nonetheless, while the front is a little weak,
the back has a strong visual impact, lessened only by the massive blob
of sticky tape in the middle. |
